HELP OUR BUSHFIRE AFFECTED COMMUNITIES

The devastation of the bushfire crisis is being felt far and wide around the country.

We have been inspired by our wonderful Waurn Ponds retailer community, both at a local and national level who are supporting the many and varied relief efforts around the state and country.

Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre is owned by ISPT, so we’re a proud part of a large nationwide community with the power to make a big difference through small actions like these donations.

We’re encouraging our local community to help the incredible efforts to give life-saving aid to the people, wildlife and natural environments affected by the fires.

Coles is accepting donations to the Red Cross at checkout and Woolworths is accepting donations to the Salvation Army at checkout.

Your generous donation will go directly to those in need during and after the fires, to help with things like:

  • Support at evacuation centres and hubs
  • Providing meals to evacuees and frontline responders
  • Longer-term recovery programs in disaster-affected communities
  • Psychological first aid to reduce trauma
  • and more

Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre will continue to keep you informed about the great work our local community and retail stores are providing to the Bushfire Relief efforts via Facebook and Instagram @WaurnPondsSC

The Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre website also provides a broad list of charities and organisations assisting affected communities, fire fighters and wildlife.   You can access the information here.

The City of Greater Geelong has also included details of local fundraising events on its web site. Visit geelongaustralia.com.au/events/, then find the ‘Bushfire support’ link on the right.  There is an opportunity to register your own fundraising events on the page too.

Thank you to everyone who has and continues to support the bushfire appeals.
